KRASACC gain Level 2 of Quality For Health
We are delighted to announce that the Kirklees and Calderdale Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre (KRASACC) have recently been awarded Level 2 of Quality For Health. To achieve Level 2, organisations must demonstrate a high level of impact and innovation in the delivery of person centred services.
KRASACC is a small registered charity that provides specialist therapy, advocacy and support for survivors of sexual or domestic violence and abuse living in Kirklees and Calderdale. Running for nearly 30 years, the centre works with young people and adults over the age of 13.
There are 3 aspects to the service provided to support survivors of abuse emotionally and practically:
- A Helpline which provides a support services via the phone, offering a listening ear, arranging referrals for other KRASACC services and signposting to relevant support
- An Independent Sexual Advisory Service (ISVA) to support survivors of abuse who are considering reporting, or who have already reported the abuse, to the police.
- A specialised Sexual Violence Counselling service with a team of counsellors with over 10 years experience of specialist counselling around abuse issues.
Heather Cooper, Chief Executive of KRASACC, said:
“KCRASACC are delighted to have successfully completed the award. It’s great to have the work you do endorsed by a quality standard such as Quality For Health.”
Tamsin Woodhead, Quality For Health Coordinator at VAC, said:
“Obtaining Level 2 of Quality For Health is not an easy feat. It takes a lot of time and dedication but above all, a committed organisation and staff team to achieve it. A big well done to KRASACC for all their hard work during this process – very well deserved.”
